New Self-Help Support Group Now Meeting in Maplewood

By April 25, 2017March 5th, 2023New Jersey

We welcome a new self-help support group for persons living with depression, bipolar disorder and related conditions, as well as family and friends of those living with such mental health issues, meeting weekly serving the South Orange/Maplewood community. Meetings are on Wednesdays, from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM at the Ethical Culture Society, 516 Prospect St, Maplewood, NJ. See the group’s web page* for contact information and details about the meeting.

The effort to start this meeting was driven by Andrea, who also leads the meetings. The first meeting was on February 22, 2017. Though the support group is not affiliated with DBSA, Andrea has been trained as a DBSA facilitator and leads using DBSA’s format. Andrea is working towards affiliating the support group as a DBSA chapter.

If you live in the South Orange/Maplewood area, please attend and give the support group a try. And, if you can, help Andrea to success in forming a new DBSA chapter!
