DBSA New Jersey held our Ninth Annual Conference for support group attendees, and friends, yesterday at the University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro. Our day featured our first Naomi Sims Keynote Address by Hakeem Rahim. Dr. Jeffrey Apter presented an update on developments in medication and Dr. Nathalie Edmond on mindfulness based therapies. We were privileged to have participation from the Mental Health Association in New Jersey with presentations from Barbara Johnston on access to behavioral healthcare, and Chrissy Schayer on entering the peer workforce. And we welcomed back Allen Doederlein, DBSA President, who spoke on DBSA’s I to We initiative and tour. We have made these presentations available to you in PDF form on our 2015 Annual Conference page.
We are grateful for the corporate grants and individual sponsorships that funded our conference, and much appreciation goes to the hospital for generously providing our meeting space, tending to our needs, and the many staff in multiple roles that were key to making the day a success. Thank you!
